Lee Clark believes that Paul Robinson is the ideal man to take on the role of Blues skipper
The 34-year-old defender has been named as both club captain and team captain by the Blues boss following the summer departures of Stephen Carr and Steven Caldwell.
"I’ve confirmed to Paul that he will be team and club captain next season," said Clark.
"He knows as well as I do that that doesn’t guarantee him a starting position. But I think he ticks all the boxes in terms of what I’m looking for in a leader both on and off the field.
"He knows when the time is to give someone an arm round the shoulder and some encouragement and when the time is to give someone a kick up the backside. He also leads by example as well in terms of his performances.
"I remember when we first signed him there could have been a bit of an issue but the supporters took to him very quickly and they realised whatever club he’s pulling the jersey on for he gives his maximum. What I’ve got to decide now in terms of three or four options as to who is the vice-captain of the group and I’ll sit down with the staff and decide that."
