Blues boss Lee Clark on the workout:
"It was a good game, a good workout and was perfect for what we were looking for. Alfreton did very well and their pitch is really good, it was obviously a bit slow because at this time of year groundsmen don't will never cut it too short in the hot weather we've had but I thought it was an excellent workout.
"In the second-half there was more of an experienced spine to our side and you saw how solid we looked; Darren (Randolph) hasn't really been tested, there was one long shot but we've been the dominant side in the second-half. In the first quarter-of-an-hour of the first-half, there were a few bits and pieces that we still need to work on and there were some younger players in there as well so we'll take that into consideration. But it's a good opportunity for these young lads to stake a claim over the course of pre-season."
Blues midfielder Olly Lee on his goal-scoring first-half performance:
"It was a good workout. It was good to get your first 45 minutes out of the way for all the lads. It was really hot conditions but all the boys enjoyed it and it was nice to get a win.
"(For the goal), Akwasi set it up nicely for me and I hit it sweet. It was one of those when as soon as it leaves your foot you know it's got a good chance of going in and I was delighted when it did."
