Blues skipper Paul Robinson brings us the second installment of his daily diary from Ireland.

Robbo on the squad's first training session in Ireland..

"It was a hot day but a good session. The lads all looked sharp and lively again, I think the day's rest yesterday helped with that. It was good to get out on the pitch again. Carton House is very impressive, everything's here for you so you can't complain. Everything has been first class so far.

"Pre-season is all about getting your fitness and making sure you're ready for 3 August. We know we've got a game tonight (against Shamrock Rovers) but our main priority is that we come away from the match with no injuries and that we're building up those fitness levels ready for the season to start."

Robbo on his own condition...

"I feel good. Obviously you get a bit tightness through the hard ground and the hard work you do but other than that I feel great. I'm looking forward to my football and I'm enjoying it at the moment."

Robbo on his roomie...

"I've got sexy Spector in my room. I think he's the only person I could leave my wife for because he's a smooth dude, ha ha. Me and Specs have always got on well since I've been here so it's nice to spend quality time getting to know each other a bit better.

"Specs got married in the summer so it's nice to catch up and find out how he enjoyed his honeymoon. I don't think he's too happy with the gaffer though as he only got five days off!"
