Lee Clark has strengthened his squad by re-signing Newcastle United's Shane Ferguson on loan.
The Northern Ireland international has penned a deal that will keep him at St. Andrew's for the 2013/14 season.
The 22-year-old left-sider had an impressive loan spell at Blues last season between February and the end of the 2012/13 campaign. He made 11 appearances and scored one goal, which came from a terrific free-kick in Blues' 4-0 demolition of Crystal Palace.
Ferguson is equally as comfortable playing on the wing or at full-back.
The Derry-born youngster is a product of Newcastle's Academy and to date has made 32 senior appearances for the Magpies. He signed a five-year deal with Newcastle in 2011.
Blues boss Lee Clark admitted it taken time for him to bring Ferguson back, but was delighted to have finally got his man.
"I’m absolutely delighted to be able to bring Shane in," said Clark. "It’s taken the longest of all the deals but he was one I wasn’t going to give up on.
"He did really well for us last season and I'm sure the fans are very happy to have him back. I think it will be good move for him playing week in and week out, which he hasn’t really done at a first-team level, because he’ll get stronger and stronger.
"I’ve also want to thank my old club Newcastle who have done really well for us in terms of the way they’ve structured the deal financially for us."
