In the first of a series of designated player days, bcfc.com turned the spotlight on Chris Burke today.

- He was born in Glasgow on December 2 1983.

- He began his career at Glasgow Rangers where he made 131 first-team appearances before leaving in 2009.

- He spent two and a half years with Cardiff City where he made 121 first-team appearances.

- He joined Blues in the summer of 2011 and has so far made 106 first-team appearances.

- He made his senior Scotland debut on May 11 2006 against Bulgaria in the Kirin Cup in Japan.
