Marlon King has left Blues by mutual consent after both parties opted to terminate the remainder of his contract.

The striker’s deal was due to run until the summer of 2014 but that agreement has ended prematurely and King will now be available as a free agent from 2 September.

The 33-year-old, who has recently been called up to the Jamaica squad for their forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Panama and Costa Rica, was informed at the end of last season that he was free to talk to potential employers due to the club having to trim its player wage costs in order to meet Financial Fair Play regulation requirements.

The club would like to take this opportunity to thank Marlon for his magnificent service to Blues over the last two seasons and wish him well for the next chapter of his career.
