Blues have been presented with a special wooden plaque to mark the club's fundraising efforts during Movember 2012.

Having braved the month of November with hairy upper lips, the BlueMoses managed to raise a staggering £12,778 to finish top of the Football League's Movember chart.

The 85-strong team made up of Blues fans, players and staff all played their part in raising the incredible total with season ticket holder Bob Scarff receiving VIP matchday hospitality as the BlueMoses' top fundraiser with £5,660.30 to his name.

This effort has now been recognised by Movember officials who recently presented the unique 'thank you' plaque to Andy Walker, Blues' head of media & communications, midfielder Olly Lee, an advocate of the cause, and assistant boss Terry McDermott, an original 'Mo Bro'.

JC, a founding member of the Movember movement, said: “Birmingham City and all the Bluemoses support over the last few seasons has been incredible and has helped to raise so much awareness for men’s health. You have inspired us all with your dedication to the Mo and helped us to change the face of men’s health.

"To all the fans, staff and players who have rocked out great Mos, we at Movember salute you. Special thanks to Bob Scarff who was one of the highest fundraisers in the squad and to Andy Walker for marshalling the troops, and for letting me on the pitch at St Andrew’s.”

Movember, the month formerly known as November, is when men around the world grow a moustache, with the support of the women in their lives, to raise awareness and funds for men’s health - specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health.
