Higgins on the move

Ryan Higgins

Ryan Higgins is the latest Blues player to be sent out on loan.

The 19-year-old right-back has joined local side Tamworth on a one-month youth loan deal that runs up to and including Wednesday 13 November.

He is the sixth Blues youngster to be farmed out to lower league opposition in recent weeks in order to gain first-team playing time.

A former Everton trainee, Higgins has been with Blues since last season when he joined the club as a non-contract player.

His impressive performances for the development squad saw him rewarded with a one-year professional contract (with a one-year option) in the summer, but he has yet to make his first-team bow for the club.

Tamworth play their football in Skrill Premier League, which is the fifth-tier of English football. They are currently in 16th spot and hovering just two points ahead of the drop zone.

The Lambs host former league outfit Luton Town at The Lamb Ground on Saturday.

Higgins has also been given permission to represent Tamworth in the FA Cup.
