Blues boss Lee Clark and two-goal hero Kyle Bartley react to an important victory at the John Smith's Stadium.

Lee Clark on the result...

"It was a huge game for us psychologically. We knew where we dropped in the table and coming here, which is never an easy game, it was important that we put on a performance. We got the performance and thankfully the result came with it.

"Very rarely have they failed to deliver after an indifferent performance, next game in, they go and do the business and that's what they did today."

Lee Clark on Nikola Zigic's opening goal...

"Proper striker's goal for me. If you're going to be prolific you'll score 15-20 of those inside the penalty box during the season, so I was delighted.

"We got one wrongly chalked off as well when Nikola was adjudged to be offside when he laid it back for Jesse, fortunately we kept our cool and went on to get the result."

Lee Clark on an eventful afternoon for Kyle Bartley...

"Delighted for Kyle, I thought his general performance was of high quality. I thought his last two performances individually have been really good I'm just so frustrated for him that he ends in a red card.

"I know it's the rules and regs about going and celebrating with the fans, but he's just scored a goal that's probably given us a win.

"It's a very emotional game and he wasn't enticing the Huddersfield fans. I would like see a bit of common sense prevail to be honest."

Lee Clark on the importance of the result going into an International break...

"We've still got things to work on. We're still in a precarious position, but yes, when you've got a two-week break and you're on the back of a positive result, certainly we can enjoy the next few days."

Kyle Bartley on a bittersweet day...

"First and foremost it was fantastic for us to get three points.

"It was clear that we needed it and the lads have worked really hard in training this week, the gaffer and all the coaching staff have pulled together this week and it was a fantastic performance.

"In the dressing room there is a lot of team spirit, a lot of togetherness and I think we showed that out there today.

Kyle Bartley on his second-half brace...

"Obviously I'm over the moon to get two goals but like I said first and foremost it's the three points.

"I think the lads have worked so hard this week and they deserve it."

Kyle Bartley on his red card...

"I've scored to make it 3-1, the lads have come over to celebrate with me.

"I was about a yard away from the board and I've sort of just took one step over, took one step back and the refs sent me off.
