Two goals from Peter Lovenkrands helped Blues U21s to another commanding victory.

After Sheffield Wednesday U21s had taken a third minute, a goal in either half from the Denmark international sandwiched in a Liam Truslove header shortly after the break.

The result secured a sixth straight win in all competitions for Richard Beale's development group.

The hosts got off to a shaky start at Wast Hills when Nathan Thomas' low cross was palmed into the path of Khalil Lambin who tapped in to give the Owls the lead.

But once Blues began to settle, they quickly became the dominant side in this U21 Professional Development League North Two fixture.

Reece Brown's excellent throughball spotted the well-timed run of Lovenkrands in the 17th minute and he completed the move with a tidy finish past Cameron Dawson.

West Bromwich Albion loanee Scott Allan came close to edging Blues in front in the 35th minute only to see his curling effort, from Darren Ambrose's short free-kick, strike the inside of the left post.

While Blues headed into the break all square they didn't have to wait long to take a deserved lead as Truslove continued his excellent scoring record for the U21s.

In the 47th minute, Allan's corner from the right found midfielder Truslove rising the highest and he powered home his header and his sixth of the season for Beale's group.

Blues weren't done and continued to push for a third. Brown struck the post in the 54th minute while Ambrose hit a well-struck free-kick straight at Dawson in the Wednesday net.

Lovenkrands had a close range chance ruled out for offside in the 69th minute, after converting Ryan Higgin's deflected cross from the right, but the Dane soon completed his brace.

In the 77th minute, Ambrose picked out Lovenkrands at the far right post and he slammed his effort home from close range.

The Owls had a late chance to shorten the deficit but captain Nick Townsend was alert in the 87th minute to deny Franck Betra at his near post.
