Blues defender Will Packwood has today been recalled from his loan spell at League Two side Bristol Rovers.
The USA U20 international was due to remain with the West Country club until 11 January, but Lee Clark has implemented an instant recall provision in response to the knee injury suffered by left-back Mitch Hancox in Saturday's draw with Middlesbrough.
Fellow defenders Paul Robinson and Dan Burn are also just two bookings away from a possible suspension and, with the busy festive period upcoming, the Blues boss is eager to have contingency plans in place to cover all eventualities.
Packwood, who can operate at either centre-half or full-back, has clocked up eight appearances for the Pirates and proved an immensely popular addition to the Memorial Stadium squad, picking up a couple of man-of-the-match awards along the way.
The 20-year-old now comes back into contention for a place in the Blues squad for this weekend's trip to AFC Bournemouth.
