Three Blues Ladies players were in action as England Women drew their second game at the FIFA Women's U20 World Cup in Canada.

Following a 1-1 draw with South Korea on Wednesday, the young Lionesses repeated that scoreline against Mexico at the Moncton Stadium on Saturday.

Sunderland striker Beth Mead struck England's first-half opener but Fabiola Ibarra pulled one back for the Mexicans after the break.

Flying the flag for Blues were defender Aoife Mannion and forward Mel Lawley who both started, while striker Abbeyleigh Stringer was a 77th minute substitute.

England now face Nigeria in their final group game on Wednesday.

Meanwhile Blues Ladies duo Karen Carney and Jade Moore have both been included in the England Women squad for the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday 21 August (7.05pm kick-off). Midfielder Jo Potter has also been placed on the standby list.
