Blues U21s will continue their pursuit for silverware with a Birmingham Senior Cup quarter-final trip to Hednesford Town on Tuesday March 4, kick-off 7.45pm.

Richard Beale’s boys comfortably saw off the Baker Joiner Midlands Alliance League duo of Tipton Town and AFC Wulfrunians to reach the last eight of the competition.

A Liam Truslove brace and Koby Arthur’s impressive solo strike secured a 3-0 win at the Tipton Sports Academy. And the U21s’ top scorer Truslove found the net again, along with Charlee Adams, as Blues picked up a 2-0 win at the Castlecroft Stadium in round two.

A potentially much tougher assignment awaits them now in the form of Rob Smith’s Pitmen. The Staffordshire outfit play their football three tiers higher than Tipton and Wulfrunians and currently sit second in the Skrill North table, just a point behind league leaders North Ferriby United, although this week they lost the services of 23-goal top scorer Elliott Durrell after he signed for Skrill Premier side Wrexham.

Among the Keys Park ranks is defender Darren Campion, who came through the Blues youth set-up but was released at the end of his scholarship in 2007.
