Lee Clark gives his reaction to Birmingham City's 2-0 victory against Charlton Athletic.

Clark on a satisfying win:

"Terrific, I think the players have took the work we've done this week, we tried to change the mentality of the players a little bit in terms of what we were going to come up against and in terms of the surface, the pitch - and they've took it on board and executed the game plan terrifically well."

Clark on the pitch and conditions:

"It wasn't a pitch conducive to good passing football, it was a pitch we had to battle, work hard and compete with the opposition and then when we got in the final third we could do bits and pieces then and I think that's what we've done. It was a tough game and was always going to be a scrap. Everyone's made a contribution and when they got through the team, the goalkeepers made some terrific saves and at the other end we was always a threat."

Clark on importance of set pieces and team selection:

"We talked about the importance of set plays, we talked about the importance of our quality because we were a big team today, I purposely picked big powerful players to play on this surface today, it wasn't a pitch for our very technically gifted players and that was the reason we made those changes. We've got the aerial ability, so you need the delivery - the cross for me summed up Emyr's performance, I thought he was outstanding all afternoon."

Clark on Macheda:

"He's a goalscorer, its there for everyone to see when the balls in the box and he'll put chances away because we do make chances. We've got wide players that are very productive at making chances for strikers, now we've got what I call a real number nine."

Clark on the fans:

"Absolutely delighted for them. We're striving, we're working hard. Every result, every point is a thank you for their backing, so I'm delighted for the support we've had again today, and a big thank you from us."
