Loan extensions for Huws and Rusnak

Blues have reached an agreement with Manchester City to extend the loan spells of Emyr Huws and Albert Rusnak with the club until the end of the season.

Wales U21 international Huws, 20, joined Blues on an initial one-month youth loan on 28 January.

He has subsequently made four first-team appearances - in three of which he has been the man-of-the-match, and has been one of Lee Clark's standout players in recent weeks.

Rusnak moved to St. Andrew's a week earlier than his fellow Manchester City loanee and the 19-year-old winger has also made an impact during his four games for the club.

On the news of securing the talented duo's services until the end of the season, Clark told "It's brilliant news because the two of them have made a big impact. Both on and off the pitch, Albert and Emyr are really popular with the lads and I'm delighted that both Manchester City and the lads have agreed to stay until the end of the season.

"We need them like we need all the players we brought in during January, which is why it was such a blow when we lost young Tom Thorpe from Manchester United so early into his loan.

"Even on Saturday (against Huddersfield Town) it was probably Emyr's quietest game of the lot but he was still very influential for us in terms of some of the good things that we did do well.

"Albert has been a bright player for us. We like him, we like his personality and we think he can do good things for us for the remainder of the season."
