Blues had eight first-teamers on duty for their respective nations during the recent international break.

Of note, on-loan midfielder Emyr Huws made an impressive senior debut for Wales as he played the duration of the Gareth Bale-inspired 3-1 victory over Iceland in Cardiff.

Meanwhile, fellow loanee Shane Ferguson gained his 14th cap for Northern Ireland as a 73rd minute substitute during the disappointing 0-0 draw in Cyprus.

Elsewhere, winger Chris Burke picked up his seventh Scotland cap as a 90th minute substitute during Gordon Strachan side's 1-0 win in Poland.

Earlier in the day at St George's Park, midfielder Reece Brown started and played 86 minutes during England U18s' 2-1 defeat to Croatia U18s. Brown was also joined on the pitch by Blues teammate Demarai Gray, who was introduced in the 76th minute for Tottenham Hotspur's Emmanuel Sonupe.

Goalkeeper Darren Randolph watched on as an unused substitute as the Republic of Ireland went down 2-1 to Serbia in Dublin, while defensive duo Will Packwood and Jonathan Spector weren't called on during the USA's 2-0 defeat to Ukraine in Cyprus.
