Birmingham City manager Lee Clark reacts to the unfortunate defeat to the Royals

Lee Clark on his side’s battling display that ultimately went unrewarded...
“I’m deeply disappointed for the players more than anybody else. They have given everything and done what I’ve asked – played with a lot of vigour, created chances, looked bright in the attacking third and limited them to few opportunities, but we’ve been punished for the slightest of errors. That’s the ways it’s going for us at the moment. We’ve got to dust ourselves down because we’ve got a huge game on Tuesday now.”

Clark on maintaining a positive outlook for some crucial games ahead...
“Hopefully if we continue to do the right things, things will go in our favour; if we don’t get down on ourselves, keep being positive and look after one another. It’s my job now to look after the players, they’re a little bit quiet in the dressing room because they’re hurting a lot. They’re not enjoying coming in when they know they’ve deserved more from the game. We’ve got to stick together.”

Clark on the Tuesday night trip to Millwall, who currently sit just below the relegation dotted line...
“It’s just one of the nine games we have left, but obviously the opponents and where they are (in the table), we’ve got to stand up and be counted and be ready for the fight.”
