Darren Ambrose scored his sixth goal in nine games for Greek loan side Apollon Smyrni at the weekend.

Unfortunately the midfielder's 80th minute strike was not enough to prevent his team losing 3-1 away at Panathinaikos in their Greek Super League fixture. The result leaves Apollon Smyrni just two places and a point above the drop zone.

A trio of Blues players were in action for Skrill Premier League side Lincoln City on Saturday.

Nick Townsend and Charlee Adams completed the full game for the Imps in their 3-1 defeat away at Gateshead. Koby Arthur, who was making his debut for the Sincil Bank outfit, played 45 minutes before being substituted at half-time.

Meanwhile Wade Elliott's League One Bristol City side picked up a point with a 2-2 draw away at Colchester United.

The Robins raced into a two-goal lead but were pegged back by United who scored twice in the space of seven second-half minutes. Both of the hosts' goals came after Elliott had been substituted on 58 minutes.

There was better afternoon for Hayden Mullins in his League One encounter, with Notts County beating fellow strugglers Carlisle United 4-1. Although the Magpies remain bottom of the table, the valuable three-point haul means they are just five points from safety.

Lower down the leagues, Ryan Higgins played the full match for Leamington in their 1-1 draw away at Histon in the Skrill North.

There was disappointment for Viv Solomon-Otabor, as his Oxford City side suffered a 4-0 defeat away at AFC Telford United in their Skrill North fixture.

Finally, Amari'i Bell was an unused substitute for Kidderminster Harriers as they were held to a 1-1 draw in their Skrill Premier League match at Aggborough.
