Birmingham City FC is saddened to hear of the death of former player Bryan Orritt.
Born in Caernarfon, the Wales U23 international joined Blues from Bangor City in January 1956 and made his league debut alongside 'Bunny' Larkin against Leeds United in October of that same year.
In his position as inside-forward or wing-half he played a total 119 times for Blues and scored 27 goals.
He was also a key member of the sides that finished runners-up in the finals of the 1960 and 1961 Inter-Cities Fairs Cups.
Bryan remained at St. Andrew's until 1962, when he made the switch to Middlesbrough.
Towards the end of his career he moved to South Africa, where he joined Johannesburg Rangers as a player, before becoming a prominent coach working with black youngsters in Soweto.
