The occasion will be a chance to showcase Blues Ladies’ new permanent home ahead of an exciting era for the Second City’s top female side.
Having successfully staged the round of 16 and quarter-final home legs at St. Andrew’s, every effort was made to return to the stadium for the final four clash. However, UEFA’s fixture scheduling across the Easter weekend and in such close proximity to the men’s side’s crucial Sky Bet Championship fixture at home to Blackburn Rovers on Monday 21 April, unfortunately made it difficult to host the tie at St. Andrew’s.
UEFA granted dispensation to hold the fixture at St. Andrew’s on the evening of Friday 18 April, however this date was deemed unsuitable for Tyreso FF.
With the men’s fixtures being the priority at this vital stage of the season, a Saturday match wouldn't have allowed enough turnaround time to sufficiently prepare the St. Andrew’s playing surface ahead of the visit of Blackburn, especially ahead of three home games in the space of eight days.
Permission was granted to hold the historic occasion at Solihull Moors’ Autotech Stadium, thus adding another significant chapter to Blues Ladies’ homecoming.
Tickets, due on sale from 9am on Tuesday (8 April), will cost £6 for adults (£5 for 2013/14 season ticket holders) and £3 for under-16s (£2 for 2013/14 season ticket holders).
Having beaten Finnish side PK-35 Vantaa
, Russian’s FK Zorkiy
and fellow FA Women’s Super League outfit Arsenal Ladies
, Swedes Tyreso will be the next challenge of what has been a memorable and remarkable run for David Parker’s side.
Following the semi-final first-leg at the Autotech Stadium, Blues will travel to Tyreso’s Tyresövallen stadium on Sunday 27 April (1.45pm kick-off) for the second-leg.
