One loyal Blues family, who have gone more than five years without missing a game, have enjoyed a special day out at the training ground as part of the EZE Wishes campaign organised by the club’s diamond partners EZE Group.
The Williams family from Bartley Green, Birmingham travel home and away supporting the Blues and have even taken in the European campaign and the club’s pre-season friendly games.
Now mum Pam and children Lindsey, Alexander and Christopher have had their outstanding loyalty recognised with a VIP visit to the training ground at Wast Hills where they were able to see the players in action close up, join them for a spot of lunch afterwards and take part in a signing session. The other member of the family Bethany was unable to join due to studying commitments.
The family was nominated for an EZE wish by friend Andrew Hamley who also joined them on the training ground visit.
“The family has even taken holidays from work so they can get to places like Sunderland and Burnley on a Tuesday night and often have to leave late for away fixtures so they can pick up the youngest from school on the way,” said Andrew.
“On one occasion they arrived back from a game in Madeira on a Saturday night only to wake up early on the following morning so they could drive to Middlesbrough for the game.”
During the training ground visit, the Williams family had the chance to meet one of their favourite players Nikola Zigic.
Commenting on their special day, Pam said: “We had a wonderful time, the players and manager Lee Clark were so friendly and made the day really special for us all.”
