The midfielder told BluesTV: "We played well first and the only thing we didn't do was stick the ball in the back of the net."
"At half time in the changing room we all believed we could produce the same again and go on and win the game."
After a positive first half display, Blues were unable to find the break-through and that important opening goal: "The way things have been going, we need to score when we're on top and try and give ourselves a platform to build on."
"Obviously, I'm responsible for that with probably the best chance for us." he later added.
The result means Blues slip into the relegation zone for the first time this season with two games remaining, including their game in hand at home against Wigan: "The result just leaves no margin for error on Tuesday night, we need to pick ourselves back up, be positive and believe again."
The defeat leaves Blues without a home win in 17 matches, something Tom and his team-mates look to put right on Tuesday: "We're going to be doing absolutely everything in our power to make sure we can end that (that run) on Tuesday night."
