Blues boss Lee Clark has bolstered his striking ranks by signing Brentford's top scorer Clayton Donaldson

The 30-year-old forward has joined the club on a two-year contract, commencing on 1 July, and becomes the ninth recruit of the summer.

Hot shot Donaldson played a key role by bagging 18 goals as the Bees clinched promotion out of Sky Bet League One last season as runners-up to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Bradford-born player began his professional career with Hull City, before moving on to York City, Hibernian, Crewe Alexandra and then Brentford in 2011.

Since switching to the Bees, he has a better than one in three goal average, having found the back of the net 53 times in 155 appearances.

Donaldson's arrival follows hot on the heels of winger David Cotterill who put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal on Tuesday.
