A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Blues for a head of academy goalkeeping within our academy department.

Term: Permanent full-time 
Location: Wast Hills Training Ground, Kings Norton 
Salary: Circa £27,000 plus benefits

This role requires an experienced coach to lead the delivery of goalkeeping coaching across all three youth development phases. The position requires the ability to organise weekly coaching schedules, deliver sessions to groups within these development phases and observe players within teams operating in the games programme. The individual will possess the appropriate communication and teaching skills to implement the coaching curriculum and provide the necessary environment for the players to learn.

Based at our Wast Hills Training Ground in Kings Norton, we are looking for a highly motivated individual, who possesses knowledge and experience of goalkeeper development within the U9 to U18 age range. The successful applicant will be experienced in dealing with young players, parents and have an understanding of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), and its relationship with the Performance Management Application (PMA). Reporting to the academy manager/head of coaching you will be tasked with the implementation of the goalkeeping curriculum under the guidance of our academy management team in line with the club’s performance plan.

You will be required to action a number of administrative tasks to ensure each player’s progress is appropriately recorded and as such the candidate will be computer literate across the basic functions of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. In addition to this, the planning and review process of our programme is imperative and as such the candidate should be comfortable in goal setting and performance reviews of the players and activities undertaken by the group.

You’ll show high levels of motivation, the ability to dedicate time to the programme as the schedule determines and engage in the internal and external continual professional development as determined by the academy’s coach developer.
