Lee Clark’s thoughts after his side’s excellent win against the Seagulls.

Clark on seeing his side return to winning ways at St. Andrew’s…
“I always stressed that this was a new group and I didn't think it was an issue I had to address. It's not something I spoke about during pre-season because it's a completely new squad bar seven or eight players and they didn't have that psychological barrier. The team played the way I have wanted them to play since I first walked through the door. You got to have the right personnel to do that and those players have got it in abundance - the work ethic, and the pressing - from the front players to the back was fantastic.”

Clark’s take on Wes Thomas’s goal…
“(David) Cotterill has produced a great cross. I thought he was outstanding all afternoon and I thought it was a very good finish from Wes. I was a bit frustrated that we hadn't gone in at half-time leading, so it was nice to get the early goal in the second-half.”

Clark on keeping a clean sheet…
“I thought our defenders were outstanding. We look like we've got players out there who enjoy the defensive side of the game. That was a big issue for us last year and why we couldn't win games because we were conceding two's and three's and having to score that many just to get a point. You have to build foundations and the way you start is by being solid at the back. It was an area we had to address.”

Clark on the injuries and substitutions…
“David Davis took a bang on the ribs but we hope is okay and Lee Novak had cramp in his calf. But the two substitutions I was able to make, shows me that there is quality in the squad. Stephen Gleeson has come on and done great and I was in the position to be able to bring my captain Paul Robinson on and he's organised everyone into their new roles.”
