Denny Johnstone's late header secured a second succesive 1-1 draw for Alan Thompson's U21s at Wast Hills.
The ex-Celtic striker powered home his effort in the 82nd minute to secure a draw against Leeds United following a rain-lashed Bank Holiday encounter.
Blues had named a starting XI that included nine players who have tasted first-team experience with goalkeeper Callum Preston and triallist Matty Pattison, a former Newcastle United and Norwich City midfielder, the only exceptions.
It proved to be a largely uneventful first-half. Luke Parkin clipped an 18 yard effort just wide in the 27th minute while, at the other end, Reece Brown had a goal ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper.
Johnstone was guilty of missing a glorious opportunity to open the scoring four minutes into the second-half when Brown teed up the Scotsman six yards out only for the eventual effort to sail over.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 57th minute. Alex Mowatt's throughball set Parkin on his way and he clipped the ball beyond Preston.
In the 75th minute, Viv Solomon, on for Pattison, fired an shot wide from a narrow angle on the right having latched on to Mitch Hancox's testing cross from the left.
Blues continued to come on strong and Demarai Gray forced Alex Cairns to tip over his powerful strike from 20 yards in the 78th minute.
Then came the deserved equaliser. Gray's corner from the left picked out Johnstone for a powerful downward header that beat Cairns.
