Birmingham City Football Club values the talents and abilities of all of our staff and seeks to foster an open, cooperative, and dynamic environment in which staff and the Club alike can flourish. The Club provides an Open Door Policy in which staff are encouraged to be innovative and strive for continuous improvements to the Club and its services.
Our casual worker contracts offer a choice to those who want flexibility in the hours they work, such as students, parents, carers and those with other jobs. The contracts are ideal for those who wish to accommodate their other commitments.
For those that do not have alternative roles or other commitments, there are always permanent opportunities becoming available. The Club has a policy of ‘growing our own’ and many of the current permanent workforce were appointed directly from our Casual workforce.
Birmingham City Football Club is committed to training and development of its entire staff both casual and permanent.
There are a number of NVQ’s available for casual staff depending on department for example:
NVQ2 & NVQ3 in Spectator Safety for Turnstile and Stewarding staff
NVQ2 in Customer Service for Retail Catering, Retail & Ticketing staff
NVQ 2 in Hospitality Services for Executive Catering and Bar staff
NVQ 3 in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership for Executive Catering & Bar Team Leaders and Supervisors
And a range of NVQ’s for kitchen staff/chefs
This is not an exhaustive list and we can generally provide training for all areas of interest.
BCFC aim to recognise and reward our casual workers and at the end of each season we hold an Awards Evening & Party whereby staff with outstanding feedback from either their line manager and/or guests/supporters are awarded with certificates and prizes.
All casual workers can also get 10% discount off any merchandise from the Blues Superstore (excluding tickets).
