Head of Commercial, Ian Dutton, Advertising and Sponsorship Manager, Akinola Fashola, Football Sales Manager, James Else, and Business Development Manager, Chris Brewerton, were joined by Mike Walsh, Sales Director of club sponsor Eze-Talk, for the annual event which brings together over 300 riders from across the 72 English Football League clubs to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.
The disease will affect 1 in 8 men in the UK in their lifetime with older men, men with a family history of prostate cancer and black men significantly more at risk.
BCFC’s fundraising efforts were helped by main sponsors of the journey, Mainstream Print, and also HJ Wealth Planning, Byron Park Properties, Swallow Soft Drinks and Tonic Weight Loss, all businesses who are great friends of the club and passionate supporters of the Blues.
The total fundraising figure following the ride stood at £460000 with further donations in the coming weeks expected to bring it closer to the magical half a million mark.
Head of Commercial, Ian Dutton, talked of the great pride in finishing the gruelling trip in glorious late afternoon sunshine outside an iconic football stadium and was keen to place on record his thanks to all those who supported the trip.
"The weekend was fantastic to be involved in, it really was a pleasure to ride and finish alongside so many supporters, employees and sponsors of the EFL all in aid of Prostate Cancer UK and I’d like to thank our sponsors and those who donated for their humbling support.
"The home straight was incredible after such a tough journey but to have raised so much money and awareness for such a deadly disease is really important and something that all at Birmingham City are passionate about."
