It was an evening of celebration as Blues Ladies hosted their Player Awards at St. Andrew’s on Friday 11 November.

In front of a sold out Legends Lounge, the team were able to acknowledge their successful campaign, which included a fourth place finish, a FA Continental Tyres Cup final appearance and a Club equaling record of 12 matches unbeaten.

Talented defender Jess Carter was the big winner as she claimed Young Player of the Season (sponsored by Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers) and Supporter’s Club Player of the Season.

The 19-year old, who recently received an England Next Generation squad call-up, also won the acclaim of her Manager and peers after being awarded the Players’ Player of the Season (sponsored by A&E Services) and Manager’s Player of the Season.

Elsewhere, defender Aoife Mannion picked up the Fan’s Player of the Season (sponsored by JS Spooner) with a staggering 49% of the vote, Keeley Davies received the Development Squad Player of the Year and Shania Hayles won the RTC Player of the Season Award (sponsored by Technical Drive).

In a season with plenty of excitement, Charlie Welling’s excellent finish against London Bees in the FA Continental Tyres Cup semi-final secured the Goal of the Season award (sponsored by Snatchpac) and Coral Haines’ last gasp extra-time winner against Liverpool in the FA Continental Tyres Cup quarter-final picked up the Moment of the Season.

Outside of the playing staff, Emily Meaney received the Supporter of the Season award, whilst Lucy Farnell was given a special presentation for her loyal support after failing to miss a single WSL home fixture.

Finally, Deputy Chief Executive Steve Shipway was also recognised for his services with an onstage presentation. Shipway has since stepped down from his position, but without his service and commitment for many years, the Club would be not have progressed to where it is now.

The Club would like to thank Steve for all his efforts and hard work and we wish him all the best in the future.
