Steve Cotterill and Paul Groves will assist new manager Harry Redknapp at Blues

The pair will be his First Team Coaches.

Goalkeeper Coach Kevin Hitchcock is remaining in his position.

Cotterill has a wealth of managerial experience spanning over two decades. After his playing career was cut short by injury, Cotterill moved into management at the age of just 30 and took Sligo Rovers to the 1996 League of Ireland Cup Final in his first season.

The 52-year-old, a former striker from his playing days with the likes of Wimbledon and Bournemouth, returned to these shores to lead Cheltenham Town to two promotions and into the Football League for the first time.

His managerial CV also includes League Two and League One title successes with Notts County and Bristol City, as well as extensive experience of the Championship during spells in charge of Stoke, Burnley, Portsmouth and Nottingham Forest.

In contrast to Cotterill, Groves enjoyed a prolonged on-pitch career, playing into his early 40s and making over 700 appearances, more than half of which came for Grimsby Town.

It was at Blundell Park that the former defender or midfielder cut his teeth in football management as a player-boss for the Mariners, and has gone on to serve as a coach for Portsmouth, West Ham, Bournemouth, Crawley Town and Bristol City.

Redknapp met the Blues players for the first time this morning at St. Andrew's, where they had been scheduled to train before a shirt sponsors' function.

Cotterill and Groves took the session with Redknapp overseeing proceedings.
