Nottingham Forest Under-23s 1 Blues Under-23s 1

Ronan Hale was on target for Blues Under-23s as his side came back from a goal down to earn an away draw at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening.

Forest took a 25th minute lead in the PDL2 fixture, but Blues restored parity a minute before half-time.

Charlie Cooper put a great free-kick into the box where it found Hale (pictured) who struck a low volley into the bottom corner of the net.

Development Squad Coach Richard Beale was pleased with his side’s battling display and thought that on the chances created, they were unfortunate not to leave the East Midlands will all three points.

“It was a good open game with two teams going at it,” said Beale.

“It was a battling performance from us, but we also played some good football and had the better of the chances and on another day would have won the game.

“I felt we were the better team and we’re progressing nicely

“That’s three games in a week we’ve now played away from home.

“We’ve drawn all three of them, but in all three we’ve come back from a goal down, so we’ve showed a bit of character which is pleasing.”
