Having been a part of the FA WSL since the competition’s creation in 2010, Blues Ladies have been planning for the long-term future as well as the forthcoming 2013 campaign.
Following the submission of the bid, BCLFC Chief Executive, Steve Shipway, said: “In the last two seasons, the club has achieved considerable on-the-field success. This includes finishing as FA WSL runners -up and Continental Cup finalists in both seasons, winning the 2012 FA Women’s Cup and competing in the 2012 UEFA Champions League, a feat which will be repeated again later this year.
“The off-the-field work has also come to fruition with a stronger sustainable financial position, wonderful support from BCFC and their marketing, PR and commercial staff as well as some great partnerships with businesses and community organisations.
“The past two seasons have been both a fantastic journey and steep learning curve and our 2014-2017 bid outlines our plans and aspirations for the future.
“We are certainly excited looking ahead and hope that the FA consider us suitable for the next phase in the development of women’s football in this country.”
