The Blues boss has already added to his playing personnel by bringing in Darren Randolph (pictured below), Andrew Shinnie, Lee Novak and Olly Lee, as well as securing a number of youngsters on professional contracts.
He expects to make further additions ahead of the 2013-14 campaign, via permanent deals and by utilising the loan market.
“We’ve got Darren, Andrew, Olly and Lee in and I’m hoping that we’ll have more,” said Clark.
“At the moment we’re waiting on three lads to see if they’ll be re-signing - Jonathan Spector, Wade Elliott and Paul Robinson. I’m hoping it will be positive with those three and also that we’ll have two or possibly three other permanent signings.”
Clark also anticipates making further use of the loan market, although he may have to wait until later in the summer for players to become available.
“I’d like to leave a couple of places available for loans later on because bigger clubs want to take their young players on pre-season tours before they make a decision,” he said.
“Shane Ferguson and Ravel Morrison would like to come back but their clubs have to agree.
“I’d like to think that the majority of lads who spent time on loan with us had a good experience, developed and went back to their parent clubs as better players and all round characters with that experience. Hopefully that will stand us in good stead when we go back asking for players.”
Whichever players Clark elects to go for, he says he expects to stick to his mantra of young and hungry, adding: “They’re going to be younger players and ones that want the chance to prove themselves at this level, so we know we’ll be getting total commitment, effort and pride in the job that they do.”
