First team coach

Derek Fazackerley joined Blues as the club's first team coach in June 2012.

Preston-born Fazackerley had a long and successful playing career as a centre-half with Blackburn Rovers, for whom he made 671 appearances.

That record saw him become Rovers' record appearance holder.

After leaving Ewood Park he moved into the coaching side of the game with stints at Chester City, York City and Bury, before moving to Finland for a brief spell as player-manager for Kumu-Peikot Kuusankoski.

After leaving Finland, he joined Newcastle United as first team coach, where he spent three years at St. James' Park, before he was on the move again to Blackburn Rovers as a coach working under Roy Hodgson.

He then left Blackburn for a second time to link-up with the England national side, where he was assistant manager to Kevin Keegan.

After ending his association with the Three Lions he went on to have further coaching roles with Bolton Wanderers and Barnsley, as well as scouting for Manchester City.

More recently he has coached at Huddersfield Town and was then assistant manager to Sven-Göran Eriksson at Leicester City.
