Blues goalkeeper Jack Butland kept another clean sheet for England U21s against Serbia on Tuesday evening.

The young Three Lions won 1-0 to claim a place in next summer's European Championship finals in Israel.

Butland was largely untroubled by the Serb strike force, but did well when called upon.

Connor Wickham scored the only goal of the game at Mladost Stadium in Krusevac to secure a 2-0 aggregate win for Stuart Pearce's side.

It will be England's fourth consecutive European Championship finals appearance.

Unfortunately the victory was somewhat overshadowed by crowd disturbances and allegations of racial abuse from the home fans.

Blues players were in international action elsewhere. Defender Will Packwood made a late substitute appearance for the US U20s side against Azerbaijan. The US U20s recorded a 3-2 victory in the friendly fixture, which was staged in Marbella.

Keith Fahey was an unused substitute for the Republic of Ireland as they swept aside the Faroe Islands 4-1 in Torshavn, but Jonathan Spector did not make the matchday squad for the US national side as they beat Guatemala 3-1 in Kansas City to reach the next stage of World Cup qualifying.

Finally, defender Fraser Kerr, who is on loan at SPL side Motherwell, played the full game for Scotland U21s as they beat Canada 2-0 in Marbella.
