Ferguson gets NI call

On-loan Newcastle midfielder Shane Ferguson has been called-up to the Northern Ireland national side for their two home 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Northern Ireland host Russia at Windsor Park in Belfast on Friday 22 March, before Michael O'Neill’s side entertain Israel at the same venue on Tuesday 26 March.

Ferguson will be looking to add to his seven senior caps for his country.

Northern Ireland boss O'Neill is still searching for his side's first win, having seen them draw their last three World Cup qualifying matches.

They are currently fourth in Group F with three points from their four games. Russia lead the race for qualification with 12 points from their four wins.
