Scotland recall for Burke

Chris Burke has received an unexpected call-up to the Scotland national side.

The Blues winger earned the last of his two senior Scotland caps back in 2006.

However, new Scotland boss Gordon Strachan has named the 29-year-old in his inaugural squad for their friendly fixture against Estonia.

Scotland host Estonia at Aberdeen's Pittodrie Stadium next Wednesday 6 February.

Strachan said: "I've named a big squad for this match because I feel that it's important to get as many of the players together as possible ahead of my first match as national coach. 

"I want to have a strong squad for the match against Estonia, which will help us to prepare for the World Cup qualifying double-header against Wales and Serbia in March.”
