BCFC academy vision

The academy at Birmingham City FC has a clear aim of providing a place to pursue and achieve success through a first class coaching environment for all the young players registered in its system. Through a clearly defined strategy, strong culture and age specific coaching curriculum the academy staff will utilise all available resources to progress players through the development phases.

The club has a clear vision for its youth development programme, best identified through the following:
. To recruit, develop and produce home grown players to meet the core objective. The vision will be led by the technical board and supported by the    board of directors, senior management, and academy management team.
. To provide a first class coaching environment for all of the young players registered in its system.
. Through a cohesive development strategy for players in the professional development phase it is the club’s vision that players unable to meet the first  team criteria will find opportunity in the other tiers of professional football.
. To provide an elite environment in which local talent can thrive, prosper and realise their potential.
. To recruit and develop players, staff and parents who have an enthusiasm towards learning and development.
. To produce well-rounded, well-educated and respectful individuals capable of pursuing a successful non-playing career whether it be within or outside of the football industry through a holistic approach.
. Develop and maintain high standards in all aspects of our work.

We have a core objective to produce players able to meet the criteria for first team football at Birmingham City FC.
