Academy Overview
Since the Football Association developed the FA 'Charter for Quality' there have been great strides made in the development of young players.
There is more contact time with players, improved facilities and more qualified, well-trained professional staff.
A varied games programme gives everyone a great chance to progress and it is always a pleasure to see parents on match days supporting the development of our players.
Here at Birmingham City FC we are proud of our Academy. We believe in setting high standards, delivering a first class Academy experience to all our players from age 8 to 19 years. The development of our young players in a safe, happy and caring environment is of paramount importance.
A solid work ethic and good standards are high on our agenda as we aspire to produce happy, well adjusted, successful and talented players.
We believe in focusing on the holistic development of the person, giving the player every opportunity to improve socially and technically as a gifted young individual, pursuing the ultimate goal of playing for Birmingham City FC.
A large financial investment has been undertaken by the Football Club which clearly reflects the commitment of the Chairman, Board of Directors, Manager and all of the staff to the development of home grown players.

Academy Objective
The Academy has a clear aim to provide a first class coaching environment for all the young talented players it works with through the formal Academy programme and recruitment initiatives.
The Academy department has worked hard to create and manage a culture of excellence with the core objective of producing young players for the first team.
A well structured department has been formed to provide all the necessary support mechanisms to our young players and all the staff are committed to developing the programme ensuring we stay at the forefront of youth development.
We have a clear philosophy and through these fundamentals believe players accessing our programme have an excellentchance to develop and reach their goals.
