Ex-Blues star Jeff Kenna has returned to St. Andrew's and is relishing the prospect of being part of the club's Community Department.
The former full-back has signed for Blues for a second time and has already set to work as a Community Development Coach.
Irishman Kenna's vast experience in the game will be a huge help in nurturing and inspiring the skills of teenagers being trained by the club as part of the Football Development and Education Programme.
And Jeff is delighted to be involved. He told bcfc.com: "I'm really pleased to return to a club that is very close to my heart. I had two very successful seasons with Blues and I'm happy to be back.
"Not only is this a chance to pull the training kit back on but also an opportunity to help make a difference for the lads we are coaching. Hopefully my experience will help to do that and the challenge is to help them develop as players and as people."
Jeff joins other familiar faces on the Community Department's coaching team in the form of ex-Blues Kevan Broadhurst, Graham Hyde and Jerry Gill.
And Kenna joked: "Yes, they are great guys to work with - in fact thinking about it, if we grabbed a keeper we'd make a pretty decent five-a-side team!"
Former Republic of Ireland international Kenna played over 70 games for Blues between 2002 and 2004 having signed from Blackburn Rovers.
The Dublin-born defender clocked up over 500 first class appearances in a career that saw him start at Southampton and also played for Tranmere, Wigan, Derby, Kidderminster and Galway United as well as 27 times for his country.
More recently Jeff, 39, had spells as manager with both Galway and St. Patrick's Athletic in his homeland.
