COMMUNITY'S CUP BRIMMETH OVERBlues' community department have another trophy in the cabinet after a Jazz Luckie hat-trick and Kevin Boswell strike helped them on the way to a 4-1 victory over Ebbsfleet U The Football Development and Education Programme team ran out deserved winners and made it three pieces of silverware this term, having already bagged the English Colleges Football Association 5-a-side tournament title and become Midlands Conference League champions. The team is managed by former Blues captain Kevan Broadhurst, who said: "The team have done fantastically well this season and are a credit to Birmingham City Football Club. "They thoroughly deserve their success for all the hard work they have put in. "The programme is unique to Blues and I think the players benefit enormously from the opportunity the course provides them."
The scheme, which has been in operation since 2002, is going from strength to strength with many young players progressing to a higher standard of education and football.
