BLUES WIN TOP HOSPITALITY AWARD

Birmingham City FC scooped two awards at the prestigious Official Football Hospitality Awards 2010.  Blues at the Official Football Hospitality Awards 2010

Blues were honoured with the accolades of Overall Matchday Hospitality Experience Award and Matchday Hospitality Award in the Premier League.

The ceremony, which was staged at the DW Stadium on Thursday evening, is held in recognition of the efforts and dedication shown by catering, conference and events teams at every UK football club.

At the start of the 2009/10 season Blues launched a brand new in-house catering team and the executive areas including the Boardroom Club underwent extensive refurbishment. Indeed, the hard work has been recognised as Blues beat off tough competition from fellow Premier League rivals Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa.

During last season Blues' matchday hospitality was visited by professional catering judges and was marked on certain criteria including food quality, service efficiency, venue standards and presentation of matchday marketing sales literature.

Birmingham City's Head of Commercial Operations Kevin Smith said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have clinched not one but two prestigious accolades.

"We have worked hard to improve the matchday experience here at St. Andrew's and winning these awards is recognition of this. Matchday hospitality is a key area of our growing business and we will continue to make great strides with it over the forthcoming season.

"It has been a real team effort and I would like to put on record a massive thank you to everybody behind the scenes at Birmingham City Football Club."
