Birmingham City Football Club is to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of one its greatest ever players, Jeff Hall, by commissioning a new clock to be placed above the Main Stand at St. Andrew's.

Hall was tragically struck down with polio and died on 4 April 1959, aged just 29.

It was the death of Hall, a young, fit international footballer from polio which helped to kick-start widespread public acceptance in Britain for the need for vaccination.

One of the legendary figures in Birmingham City history, Hall made 264 appearances during almost a decade at St. Andrew's.

He was an integral part of the most successful ever Blues side that finished sixth in the old First Division in 1956 and also reached the FA Cup final in the same season - the last time the club has done that well in either competition.

The talented right-back represented England on 17 occasions, the second highest number of caps ever achieved by any post-war Blues player, behind Gil Merrick.

After his death, a Jeff Hall memorial clock was erected above the old A-Z scoreboard at St. Andrew's which stood for many years.

Now, to commemorate the half-century anniversary of Hall's death, Blues are to reintroduce a new version of the Jeff Hall clock to ensure that his memory will live on for many more years to come.

The club have come up with three possible designs and are giving fans the opportunity to vote for their favourite.

Once you have made your selection from the three below, send your choice (either number 6, 7 or 9) in an email to haveyoursay@bcfc.com. By clicking on each of the images you can view a larger version.
