Debbie and Mark
It was a case of 'something old, something new, something borrowed, something Blues' when avid Birmingham City fan Mark Haymes tied the knot at St. Andrew's last weekend.

The 44-year-old from Aldridge, near Walsall, married partner Debbie Poole (46) last Sunday 9th November and as a lifelong Bluenose the choice of venue - the Boardroom at his beloved club's stadium - meant it was the perfect 'match of the day'.

Bride Debbie, who met Mark in Birmingham's Jam House club just six months ago in a fairytale case of love at first sight, admits to previously not having been a football fan - but now Mark's persuaded her to become a massive Blues supporter too!

And the pair were in good company as best man Adrian Farmer and two of the bridesmaids are ardent Birmingham City fans, as well as most of the family members and friends who were in attendance.

Mark, who proudly sports a Blues tattoo on his leg, says: "What could be better than marrying the girl of your dreams at the home of your favourite football club?

The groom, who works for Birmingham City Council Housing, and bride, employed by HSBC, took their vows in the Boardroom before cutting a Blues cake at a reception for around 160 people in the Jasper Carrott Suite.

Everyone at Birmingham City Football Club wishes Mark and Debbie all the best for the future.
