GARDNER STARS IN BLUES NEWS
The former Villa man looks back on his first few weeks as a Blues player after completing his dream move to St. Andrew's to turn out for the club that he supports. Looking back on his first appearance in a royal blue shirt against Wolves, he says: "I think it was the perfect debut, apart from scoring a goal perhaps. We were 1-0 down, I came on and we won 2-1 against a Wolves team that every Blues fan wants to beat. It was unbelievable." Gardner goes onto cover a host of topics including his forthcoming return to Villa Park for the league game in late April. "I can't wait," he admits. We also speak to another man who crossed the great divide from B6 to B9 to join Blues, Liam Ridgewell. The defender clocked up his 100th appearance for the club in all competitions last weekend.
Saturday's programme also contains exclusive columns from boss Alex McLeish and chief executive officer Michael Dunford. There are lots of historical articles that will have you reminiscing about the good old days as we catch up with former Blues goalkeeper Tony Coton, continue our rundown of the 20 'Greatest Blues Moments', look back on our Inter-Cities Fairs Cup exploits and recall a previous game against Wigan from 1991 in the 'Classic Clash'.
Pick up your copy from one of the sellers around the ground before Saturday's game, priced at just £3.
