A Blues four-ball found a fair way of raising plenty of charity cash when they hit the golf course for Macmillan Cancer's Longest Golf Challenge.

Kevin Smith, Andy Clayton, Adam Brookes and Joe Perry played four consecutive rounds of golf at Olton Golf Club last week in aid of Blues' official charity for 2010, Macmillan.

The golf marathon began at 4.40am and finished just over 16 hours later at 9pm. The quartet played a whopping 72 holes, hit over 300 shoots and covered 20 miles!

Blues' Head of Commercial Kevin Smith said: "I was not looking forward to the early morning start but overall it was a fantastic day. We are looking to raise over £1,000 for Macmillan and we are well on the way to achieving that.

"Everybody at Blues is looking to make a real difference to the lives of those fighting cancer so hopefully our blisters, aches and pains will be worth it."

Steve Dourass, Area Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support said: "Macmillan's Longest Golf Challenge provides a really achievable challenge for golfers and really helps raise vital life changing funds.

"The people we support are facing the biggest challenge of their lives. Thank you so much to Andy, Kevin, Adam and Joe for taking this on. Our charity partnership with Birmingham City Football Club is really encouraging communities to participate in many of our fundraising events and helping to improve the lives of people living with cancer."
