Birmingham City Football Club has issued the following statement regarding a story which appeared in today's Birmingham Mail about an error which occurred in our official diary:

The Club is fully aware that an error has been made in the diary on just one page.

The publishers, Sportswise, has acknowledged and accepted that the mistake was theirs and have unreservedly apologised for any embarrassment caused.

The problem was spotted early and no diaries were distributed by the Club itself.

The Club is amazed that this simple error has been deemed to be worthy of front page news and can not believe that the region is devoid of anything more newsworthy.

We would also like to make it clear that Birmingham City Football Club has never won the European Cup!
