Fabrice Muamba has today signed a three year contract with Blues.
Blues have completed their first signing of the summer with the acquisition of Arsenal's Fabrice Muamba.

The 19-year-old has signed for a fee of £4m on a three year deal.

The tough tackling central midfielder spent the whole of last season on loan at St. Andrew's where he made 41 appearances and played a key role in helping Blues return to the Premiership.

Although born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Muamba has represented England up to Under 19 level.

Blues boss Steve Bruce was naturally delighted to fight off stiff competition from other clubs to land Muamba.

"This is a great signing for us and I'm absolutely delighted that Fabrice has agreed to join us," said the Blues boss

"When he first arrived here I said he would be a big, big player for us and a crowd favourite and as the season went on that was exactly what he proved to be.

"I thought his performances towards the end of the season and the way he drove the team on was unbelievable for a young kid - he had no fear.

"He goes box to box all day, wins the ball for you all day long and his passing has improved immensely since the start of the season.

Muamba, Bendtner and Bruce
Fabrice Muamba celebrates Blues' prpmotion with Nicklas Bendtner and boss Steve Bruce.
"I know he enjoyed his time here and I'm sure the huge support he received from the fans played a big part in his decision to sign a permanent deal.

"He has got the attitude and the athleticism to play in the Premiership and I think he will only get better."
