Blues striker Rowan Vine has today joined Championship side Queens Park Rangers on a one month emergency loan deal.

Vine will remain with Rangers until November 3.

The 25-year-old, who moved to Blues from Luton Town last January, has found his chances somewhat limited at St. Andrew's.

To date he has made just 19 appearances and scored a solitary goal.

Both of his starts for Blues this season have come in League Cup games.

Rangers are currently struggling at the bottom of the Championship with just three points from their opening seven League fixtures and manager John Gregory was sacked this week after seeing his side soundly beaten 5-1 by West Brom at the weekend.

Rangers coach and former Blues striker Mick Harford has taken temporary over as caretaker manager at Loftus Road.

Speaking to www.qpr.co.uk following his move, Vine said: "The major factor for me was the opportunity to stake a claim for a first team spot.

"I've been surplus to requirements at Birmingham and this is a fantastic opportunity for me.

"Obviously knowing Mick (Harford) was a big pull too. He knows what I can do as a player and it's up to me to produce the goods.
