oconnorGarry O'Connor believes that Saturday's performance against QPR was the best Blues have "played at home for a while".

O'Connor, who was starting his first game since August, was instrumental in the victory after providing the pass that led to Kevin Phillips winning goal.

"At the end of the day we deserved to win that game," said O'Connor.

"That's the best we've played at home for a while, I feel.

"In the second half we played really confident, we passed it about quite well and it's good to go into the break top of the league at the moment

"Hopefully we can stay up there and keep pushing on."

Although Blues are top of the table, they have scored far fewer goals than their Championship rivals and the Blues striker says that other areas of the team should be looking to add to their tally as well.

"Wolves and Reading have been doing that just now," he said.

o'connor"I'm just waiting on us to push on get more goals this season.

"It seems to be the strikers always scoring, so maybe the other players can chip in with a goal here and there and that might help too.

"As long as we keep winning and concentrating on our own thing we will be fine."

Blues started the second half of the game at real pace, having gone back on to the St. Andrew's pitch whilst their opponents were still in the dressing room, as O'Connor explains.

"We went out for an extra warm-up," he said.

"A few of the boys were moaning about it, but it worked.

"We started quite brightly in the second-half; we pressed and got a few corners.

"We planned it on Friday.

"The gaffer had been thinking about it for a while.

"We've started quite slowly the last couple of weeks, so a half-time so he changed it and that's obviously good management."
